She has to drag her attention off of him and back to the road - it's hard not to watch him just to reassure herself that he really is alive, to catalogue the injuries he's collected that she can actually see. The way he's acting, there are plenty more that aren't visible; despite her best efforts, she couldn't talk Natasha into giving her the full rundown.
